Human rights is freedom. Traveling is discovery.
The student life is a great time to travel and make connection with people. DO YOU PREFER STUDY LIFE OR PROFESSIONNAL LIFE?
I have been discovering Europe continent since 2009. I knew international staffs at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia so that was a great moment to compare their cultures and mentalities. I decided to getting to know more Netherland.
- University of Human rights:
Leiden University is a well-known institution for studying Humn Rights Law. Studying in English with professors who are mostly open-minded. The programmes in LL.M or Master degrees are so interesting. I would recommend Cambodian to visit the Hague because the people are bilinguals and their life style is so healthy. They often ride bicycle to work or university. There is online course provide to international students or within the university.
For young women, they would make friends with handsome yet humble Dutch. The beverages of Netherland after working all day is a must drink Heneken
because the original one.
- Human Rights Organisations
You can discover at glance how the world court had been established. The video projector as well as the exhibition objects warmly welcome visitors.
- International Criminal Court
Law students from everywhere come visit the court. It is located in an environment of nature and just a few minutes from the sea. The area of international zone is a must walk so you will enjoy the sound of the street with seafood restaurants, etc.
International Criminal Court has its Facebook page or Instagram. Let’s follow to get new notifications from the hearing.
It is hard to become even a legal intern there because the qualification requirement is high level. Most of them had experience from one of United Nation institutions from Cambodia (Extraodinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia), Africa, Geneva and so on.
- Dutch people
I knew five Hollanders and they are nice person. They smile to foreigners is the reason I am like-minded them among European people. Enjoy themselves. They often do cycling in down town or country side.
There were defence counsels from Holland worked at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia know as a UN-backed hybrid tribunal. They respect staffs and their Cambodian students. The way they express their feeling is smiling to us or listen to your idea. They are calm and observe thing quietly. I also have a role model from Holland.
